Starting from the Altos de Baracán viewpoint in Buenavista del Norte, we will walk through one of the most unpopulated and remote areas of the Teno Rural Park. We will ascend by Martín Bay summits with fantastic views of La Gomera island. We then descend to Los Carrizales, a small hamlet hidden in the mountains of Teno. From the bottom of the valley, our route will face a demanding ascent to the Cruz del Carrizal where we will see a real world of ravines from the heights. We will cross abandoned rainfed land, which will give us an idea of what life was like in the past for the inhabitants of this area of Tenerife. We will take a short rest at Teno Alto (Los Bailaderos) and from here, after crossing a picturesque stretch of laurel forest, we will return to the starting point, with the fertile valley of Palmar at our feet.
