Starting from the El Portillo Visitor Centre, we will walk this long route that has all the items to make us enjoy: endemic vegetation, volcanism, landscape and history. The best time to walk in this area is spring. This is the time when the vegetation of the Teide National Park shows itself in all its splendour: broom, endemic shrub, flixweed and tajinastes are just some of the species of flora characteristic of the Canary Islands' high mountains. In addition, this route allows us to see Teide north face, the most spectacular of them all. Some of these paths were used in the first ascents of Teide by the first explorers. They were also used to go up to collect sulphur and ice. At the end of the route we will be able to see all the native flora in the Botanical Garden next to the Visitor Centre.
