In the central part of Teide National Park we find one of the most unique formations on the island, the Roques de García. This geological formation divides Las Cañadas into two semi-calderas. Its central position makes it a privileged viewpoint for gazing this marvellous volcanic cirque, which is one of the largest calderas in the world with a perimeter of 45 km. This whole "backbone" of large rock formations, remains of the ancient summit of the island, has been shaped by water and wind over thousands of years to reach the state in which we find it today. Moreover, this route, due to its low difficulty, is ideal for families with children.
